Our closest town, Treignac, is only 10 km (about a 10-minute drive) from the campsite. This picturesque village has everything you need – restaurants, bars, shops, and the stunning Lac des Bariousses, perfect for swimming, relaxing, or enjoying water activities during the summer months.
Nearby Villages (Within 30 Minutes)
There are several charming villages and attractions within a 30-minute drive, including:
- Uzerche – Known as the "Pearl of the Limousin", with its beautiful historic architecture.
- Corrèze – A quaint town sharing its name with the department, offering a glimpse into traditional life.
- Tulle – The department's capital, great for local markets and riverside walks.
- Gimel-les-Cascades – Don't miss the breathtaking waterfalls!
- Clédat – A fascinating abandoned village hidden in the forest, perfect for a walk through time.

Walking & Hiking
We're just a 20-minute walk from the GR46 and GR440 long-distance hiking routes, with plenty of scenic trails in the area. You can borrow walking maps from reception to help plan your routes.
One of the highlights is the Suc au May viewpoint, located in the Massif des Monédières, part of the Millevaches Regional Natural Park. You can hike or drive to the top — either way, the panoramic views are unforgettable.
Swimming
There are many beautiful lakes nearby, perfect for a refreshing dip:
- Lac des Bariousses (in Treignac) is probably the prettiest, with a beach, picnic areas, and summer facilities. including the sports station with kayaking, pedalos, and inflatable water park.
- For something more secluded, try the hidden lake near Chaumeil, nestled in the Monédières. It's a peaceful little gem, off the tourist trail.
Cycling & Motorbiking
The quiet, winding roads around the campsite are ideal for cycling and motorbike tours. Expect scenic climbs, forested lanes, and very little traffic, a dream for riders of all levels.
Fishing
Fishing is available in many of the local lakes and rivers. Just make sure you have the correct permit (carte de pêche), which you can easily purchase from the Tourist Office in Treignac.
Paragliding
Feeling adventurous? There are two paragliding take-off points just 13 minutes away in the Monédières.

Many people don't realise that the Dordogne River flows through the Corrèze department, making it easily accessible from Le Ranch Camping. In fact, we're only around an hour's drive away, making it perfect for a day trip.
The Dordogne Valley is known for its breathtaking landscapes, charming riverside villages, historic sites, and plenty of outdoor activities such as canoeing, swimming, and walking. It offers a different vibe from the Monédières mountains, with rich cultural heritage and picture-postcard scenery.
