Millevaches Natural Park

Millevaches Natural Park

Whilst picturesque streams, lakes and rivers crisscross the Millevache plateau, so called ‘land of a thousand springs’, you’ll also find beautiful heathland, wetlands, pine and hardwood forests.
The Millevaches Natural Park covers 314000 hectares of land and reaches an altitude of 1000 metres. It’s a landscape of moors, bogs, meadows; of numerous rivers, lakes and ponds; of hardwood and pine forests; each with their own individual charm and beauty.
The park is a shelter for an abundance of wildflowers, birds and wild animals including otters, rare butterflies, linnets and red squirrels.
As the seasons change so do the natural colours of the Millevaches: the burnt oranges and reds of autumn, the white of winter, the greens of spring, and the blue of summer; a true myriad of colour that never fails to please.

The Millevaches also provides a seemingly endless source of activities and places of interest to visit, some of which are featured on the following links….
