Hayley & Mike

Watching the current series of "A New Life in the Sun", I realised that we hadn't done a tripadvisor review for Le Ranch. Actually, this was probably because, sub-consciously, we want to keep it for ourselves! It was our first time touring France in a camper van and were looking for places off the beaten (tourist) track. Corrèze matched that requirement perfectly and we were so lucky to find Le Ranch. We couldn’t have had a warmer welcome. When we arrived we were shown around the site and had almost too much choice of where to park up! The pitch we chose was very large (as they all seemed to be) with enough room for our dog to please himself where he lay during the day.The toilets, showers and wash-up area were spotless. Hayley and Mike checked on us from time to time (actually we probably took up too much of Hayley's time chatting - sorry) to make sure all was OK. We spent a few lovely, peaceful days (the weather was perfect, following a heatwave) exploring the local area and thoroughly enjoying just chilling on the site. There were plenty quiet lanes and paths for walking the dog and the published Madranges walk can be recommended. There are some lovely medieval towns in the area (Treignac is undoubtedly the nicest but also the busiest) and the hike up the Suc au May (which can be done from the campsite) is well worth the effort. This year we hope to get our kayak out on the local river and / or lake. As another reviewer said, this is a little known area of France (at least in terms of British tourists) and - along with Le Ranch - we can’t recommend it highly enough! We are heading back this year in our new caravan (we decided against getting a camper van). See you in August Hayley and Mike - put some of those local beers in the fridge and save us half a dozen eggs!
Beautiful peaceful campsite. Large plot, plenty of space for tent and van. Mike and Haley were fantastic hosts, suggested places to visit in the area and made us feel very welcome on their campsite. Looking forward to our next visit.
Stayed here overnight on the way down to the south east of France and what a perfect find it was! From the moment we arrived, the owners.. Hayley & Mike, were the perfect hosts. Tranquil, unspoilt and charming. A great location in beautiful rural France. It’s certainly somewhere we’d love to return to for a more lengthy stay.
We have a 10 meter Motorhome so was surprised to find such a beautiful campsite in a small pretty Village of Madranges that could accommodate our size vehicle. Le Ranch Camping is in an idyllic location hidden in beautiful nature with ample of spaces between the motorhomes and caravans with a second designated field for tents. Because of Le ranch camping location it does not impose on the small beautiful French village of Madranges and blends in with the natural beauty of the countryside. There is so many things this beautiful area of France has to offer, we tow a small car behind our motorhome which was ideal for exploring a little further afield. If you like to stay local there are the most amazing walks that takes you through the countryside and around the mountains. Le Ranch also offers electric mountain bikes to hire, Halley and Michael the owners was great in giving us all the information we needed to set out day. We called before arriving as we were nervous if they could accommodate the size of a vehicle. On the telephone Michael was amazing explained everything and even give us better directions in how to treat them without going through little Lanes, (like our sat nave wanted to take us). When we arrived we were welcomed by it was fantastic very friendly. She gave us the auction of two extra large spaces for us to choose where we spent 5 night after planning to spend two nights on our travels. all services excellent shower block with toilets immaculately clean anything you needed Michael and Hayley was always available who was happy to suppliers with BBQ and charcoal. There is a small shop on site which is reasonably priced for your forgotten items. Excellent campsite would highly recommend.
Le Ranch is absolutely the nicest camping we have ever visited in France! Hayley and Mike are super friendly and hospitable people. We found some pictures of the camping online after which we contacted Hayley to book our stay in the yurt at Le Ranch camping. And it was a lovely stay. The yurt is a super cosy tent with a well equipped kitchen site and a great cooking stove that allowed us to cook some excellent dinners. We had a few days of rain (which is always possible at the end of September), but even then the yurt was a lovely place to stay. The Correze area of the Dordogne is a lovely area if you like hiking or riding a bike. There are a lot of beautiful routes to walk or ride a bike. Also some very nice lakes nearby if you want to cool down. If you like glamping, or if you are just looking for a nice camping to set up your tent, this is the place to be! I would recommend Le Ranch to everyone and we will sure visit Hayley and Mike again in the future.
